The Wilson Whirlirun 5k was held at 8 am in Downtown Wilson at the Paul V. Berry Park. The race was held in warm sunny conditions and went through the historic district of town. This event was held to benefit The Batter Up Buddy Ball program that helps disabled children enjoy playing baseball. Some of the biggest cheers of the day were heard when the participants of the buddy ball program ran a 1 block fun run at 7:30. Everyone seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and the great race.
